Former Vice-President Oriol Junqueras was sentenced to 13 years in prison this past week for misusing public funds. This prosecution has sparked a wave of peaceful and not so peaceful protests this past week in Barcelona.

Due to these demonstrations and pro-independent acts by Catalonia nationals, classes were cancelled, roads were blocked, transportation was backed up by 50-30%, tensions rose high throughout the night and a large amount of people clashed with the police and Spanish protesters.

Personally, I do not have a political view on this national issue. From my understanding, Catalunya wants to become independent because the amount of money generated in the region supports many other regions in Spain, which means the taxes the citizens of the region pay go out to other parts of the Nation. In my opinion, this battle will end in a stalemate due to the dependence of each other. Spain needs Catalunya and Catalunya needs Spain.

Although I am not directly exposed to these riots and protests, it is honestly spooky how wild the world can be when freedom, values and morals are pinned against each other. Even though the impact of the prosecution is extremely real to the people, I believe there is a lot of propaganda being made this weekend. In multiple videos, it's all about getting that retaliation shot and provoking fear into people's hearts. These protest are addressed in a very political way.

Today in class I was exposed to both positive and negative feedback on an action.

Four people were chosen to participate and I ended up being one of four. Out of the four, I was the last one to attempt the activity.

The Goal: Sit in a chair, blindfolded, attempting to throw a tennis ball into a basket sitting 3-4 feet out in front of the chair.

The feedback: If you miss the class would boo and if you made it, they would cheer!

To begin the activity, the four participates (including myself) left the class room. We were brought back in one by one. The first person attempts the activity and the three of us outside hear cheering on cheering! The second person attempts the activity, the two left outside hear the class boo and boo! Next is the third person turn, the class is silent. Finally, its my turn to throw these balls into aa basket while blindfolded. As im tossing the balls in, the class cheers for the ones I made into the basket and boos for the ones I missed.

Overall, the feedback I received from the class was very positive and encouraging, whereas for the other participants it was not very positive or clear. It showed me it is important to give and interpret feedback in a positive manner.

I like spending time alone and I like the idea of spending time alone.

Not for too long,

but long enough enough

to explore my own thoughts and ideas

to build my own perspective on issues and topics

to gather information without the opinion of others

to listen to the music i wanna listen to

to evaluation situations and feelings I have about them

to ensure I am mentally healthy

to elaborate on goals to better myself

to build my own reality

Although I like spending time alone, it must be in moderation. Too much alone time isn't always the best but sometimes it is all that I need. It calms me but also makes me anxious. Of course I like spending time with people as well but it must be in moderation. I take enough time to develop the relationships I hold valuable by giving my time and energy but also restraining it when needed.

I like spending time alone

in that mindstate I begin to unfold

like a map to the universe

a journey to success I go

I like the idea of spending time alone

to get intune

like a guitar before a show

a melody to success i go
