Thailand

During the four months I was in Thailand, living in one of South East Asia’s biggest emerging markets introduced me to many values and practices that I was unfamiliar with. The developing nation exposed me to a completely different way of life than the one I grew up knowing, which made me highly adaptive in a new environment. Out of the few similarities that Thailand has with the United States, the products found in the imports market made me realize the goods form the western world are not that demanded in Asia. The Thai culture, political arrangement and economic environment has the potential to lead South East Asia in many aspects such as Workers Rights, Environmental Protection and Progressive thinking. I saw the potential of the emerging economy firsthand by connecting with local works and shop owners and listening to their ideas, ambitions and values.

Spain

After four months of studying abroad in Barcelona, Spain, I will be going home with more developed skills than before. Skills including, inter-personal communication, organization, critical thinking and teamwork. While attending classes, I had the opportunity to collaborate with international students on a variety of case studies and market research projects. The projects on European markets and working with students from Egypt, Germany and Peru, have exposed me to many viewpoints and perspectives that I wouldn’t have the chance to obtain in the U.S. The experiences in class and outside of class have shaped my ambitions to contribute to the global economy, promote environmentally conscious practices and become a progressive thinking, business oriented individual.
