"The quality of being social"
I pride myself on this trait I hold. Being social, has allowed me to start many conversations that have led to being exposed to new perspectives, ideas, values and backgrounds. I love to create new friends by introducing myself and finding a common interest, which sometimes turns into lifelong connections, others encounters are just an enjoyable interaction with an acquaintance. I've learned that being social does come with some negative reactions from others. Not everyone you meet wants to talk, be friendly or entertain you, which is fine. Even the most social person wants their "me" time.

My social personality has encouraged me to travel to new, unfamiliar places and connect with people who dont even speak the same language as I. For example, in Thailand, I had the chances to meet some of the nicest, most welcoming people i've ever encountered and we understood each other over a few hand gestures, hugs and bottles clinking together. Being exposed to new cultures has made me want to socialize more and understand different perspectives and views on the world. I want to become a global citizen and being social is going to allow me to truly get out of my comfort zone and create a network of friends and fellow young professionals.
