Today i've analyzed teamwork dynamic.

Team Building Exercise: To balance 8 nails onto a single nail placed on a 3x3 inch wooden square.

At first we had many ideas, some sounding better than others and more logical, some seeming impossible and others very feasible but none were working at first. All of the group members contributed thoughts and ideas on how to balance these nails but none of them was the correct configuration to get these nails to balance. Unfortunately, my group was unable to balance them, leading to professor Maydo giving an explanation on how to accomplish this exercise.

After completing the exercise, it was a lot more logical than my group was predicting. With a little bit of instruction, we were able to work as a team to configure the nails in the correct way to get them to balance.

Myado eclaimes in class today "In uni we build robots by asking a question and expecting a certain answer"

I couldn't help but think to myself, how does one break this cycle of being formed into a "robot"? I believe the first step is to think about the question in a critical way and curate an educated response, think about the answer and re-analyze the question. There are multiple factors that contribute to what you answer and creativity is a key component. You cannot be afraid of what others might think and apply all of the creative power that is within.

The Creative Atmosphere: The sound, ambiance, confirmation and energy of a given time and place which allows for the flow of creativity and imagination.

Being Comfortable: In order to be creative, one must be comfortable and at ease in the given atmosphere they happen to be in. David Kelley, explains the concept of "Guided Mastery" in a Ted Talk. One of the examples which I can relate to is the phobia of snakes. In a study, they guided subjects into rooms step by step, getting more and more comfortable within the atmosphere, up until the subject was holding the snake and admiring the beauty.

Field of Pure Potentiality: Discussed in "Seven Spiritual Laws of Success", this is a realm in which you set out your intentions and energy into the universe. Within this realm, the interweaving veins of the universe will digest these intentions and manifest them into reality. In this realm, one is able to unleash creativity into the world and have it transform thoughts and ideas that can be applied in real life.

There's so no such thing as not being the creative type, only the type to not create.

Small goal for the semester: Create More.

After digesting "The Hidden Power Of Smiling" Ted Talk by Ron Gutman, I came to realize there is so much power behind what seems to be simple facial expression of smiling. A smile and the authenticity of it, can give you clues to so many aspects of a person's life and well being. Even Mother Teresa has exclaimed, "I will never understand how much a smile can accomplish. In my opinion, everyone looks better with a smile but even more so when they mean it!

When I see or think about a person smiling, I can't help but think of emotions and words such as:

Joy

Happiness

Laughter

Positivity

Hope

Courage

Beauty

Appreciation Welcoming

Accepting

Love

S M I L E

All of these words stated above carry so much value and power to our world and all can be accomplished with a simple smile. Imagine how much good energry can be flowing through humanity if everyone smiled a bit more.

I thought it was interesting when Ron discussed the Pre-1950s baseball cards of Major League Players. He stated that a study found the span of a players smile could predict the span of his life, players who didn't smile lived an average of 72 years and players who did lived to be nearly 80, on average.

If i dont smile enough already, after today I am going to start a lil bit more, even at the little things. At times we find out self saving face and not enjoying enough. Take a minute and smile, apparently there are hidden powers behind them!
